is tended secure?

tended encrypts data in transit and at rest using standard cloud security practices, and never sells relationship data or location data to third parties. location-based features are gated behind a per-person consent setting that both partners control independently, and either partner can disable it instantly at any time.

how does tended use location?

tended checks location only during active movement, walking or driving, and goes idle after a period without movement. it is used to detect when a partner is near something connected to the other partner's known preferences, so it can surface a relevant nudge. tended does not provide continuous live location tracking or a shared map between partners.
